RealTek Vista_R186 driver for Windows Vista x86-x64 and the RealTek ac97 6285_Vista_APO driver
May 26th
Ok, RealTek appears to have some of the crappiest download mirrors on the internet, so I am now mirroring the latest RealTek drivers for all to use. My frustration of 15k and lower download speeds with a lack of decent US mirrors drove me to this haha.
So, if you have Windows vista 32 bit or 64 bit, you can get the RealTek Driver Package R1.86 here – http://www.larmeir.com/downloads/Vista_R186.zip
If you have Windows Vista 32 or 64 bit and need the RealTek Ac97 codec driver get it here - http://www.larmeir.com/downloads/6285_Vista_APO.zip
Please do not directly hyperlink to these urls as this bandwidth does cost me, however I am providing this to everyone as a good will gesture and I am running on a rock solid network – Enjoy!

Backup your data!! Listen to someone who knows..
May 19th

Backup your Data!! This goes not only to system administrators, but to the average guy who sits at their PC everyday. I sadly see many people lose data every day and it is always 100% avoidable. Yes, I said 100%!!! A good backup solution starts with proper planning. I recommend taking at least two backups. This gives you redundant backups and more options in the even of a disaster. Take this server that this very site is hosted on for example, I am running with a clustered NAS backup provided by my hosting company, and do offsite backups as well leaving me with redundant backups. I do not leave a persistent mount to backups so that if my server gets compromised, by backups are still safe. My offsite backups reside on my office server that I have access too at all times. Backup your stuff and ultimately you can rest easier at night.
Microsoft Worldwide Telescope… Pretty nifty
May 14th

Microsoft has released a new free product.. Unbelievably! – it is called WorldWideTelescope – http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/experienceIt/ExperienceIt.aspx?exp=true It is sort of like a google earth type application but for outer space. My first impressions of it are good, though it does seem bloated as all microsoft products are. But if you are a glactic afficianado like me, this is a cool little program. I have not yet tested all of it’s capabilities but i have heard you can land on mars and do rover type stuff. Ill let you know more when I have time to really check it out – Dustin
